E-Biking through the Vineyards

The story

The lake country is made for slow riding: flat golden tracks between vineyards and cork oaks, hardly a car, and views that open every few hundred metres. On this half day, guests set off on electric bikes from a country estate or winery, following paths only the vineyard workers use. The e-assistance makes the rolling country easy, so nobody is watching the road — they are watching the vines turn gold in the evening light, the lake appearing between the oaks, the hilltop village with its castle coming closer. A guide rides ahead and stops where the story is: how the vines are planted and read, which rows drink more sun, why the lake keeps the nights cool enough for the wines made here. Halfway through there is a stop in the shade for water and a view, and the ride ends where it should — back at the winery, helmets off, at a table for a tasting of the very wines the path just crossed, with the plains still turning copper outside.
