Cork, Wine and Olive Oil
Inside a Cork Oak Forest
Évora countryside
Walk through the montado, the cork oak landscape that defines the Alentejo.

Cork, Wine and Olive Oil
A farm-to-table picnic laid out between the vines, with everything on the table grown, raised or made on the estate.
The story
A low wooden table waits in the shade of a cork oak at the head of the vine rows. The kitchen of the estate has spent the morning with it: bread from their oven, cheese from neighbours, ham from pigs fed on the acorns of the montado, olive oil pressed down the road, and wine from the rows in front of you. Nothing has travelled far, and everything carries the taste of the same soil. Guests eat slowly as the light turns gold over the vines, with the white farmhouses of the estate in the distance.
The day
Picnics are built entirely from the estate and its closest neighbours, so the food travels metres, not miles.
